The machines in the US are bundled with Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) so most of use and prefer that. Some of us do have Sign Cut from older days and others are using newer versions successfully - but the majority of us use SCAL because it comes with the machine and works flawlessly with the Silver Bullet. There is also another software called Make the Cut, but since you just asked about SCAL and Sign Cut, that is why I am addressing my answer to just the two you mentioned. Because you use Illustrator, another plus is that there is a plug in for Illustrator that allows you to design in Illustrator and then send directly to SCAL so it eliminates a few steps in saving and importing. Hope that helps. Both softwares are awesome, but I am one from back in the day many many years ago that Sign Cut came with my machine, and it is my software choice. I also use illustrator except when doing rhinestones and my macro for that is in corel draw, and sign cut works great with both.

Scal does also, and I use SCAL to cut with my GCC Bengal, because signcut doesn't have the ability for two different machine profiles. But the only problems I have ever had with Sign Cut is user error. LOL But scal is also awesome for cutting. The nice thing is, is that it comes with the machine so you can try it. And you can also download a trial of signcut and compare. Both are excellent.

I just happen to prefer signcut because I have used it for the past 7 years. I personally don't care for MTC because the drivers have never been updated for our machines. And I don't care to cut using a different machines driver. But that is my own personal opinion not trying to start anything we all have our choices. MTC I use for tracing and conical warp and a couple other things then export out as svg and cut with other programs.

But many here use MTC and love it.
